KW-71 protocol

KW-71 protocol is used on early Bosch Engine ECUs (Mainly BMW, Opel, Peugeot/Citroen, Volkswagen).

Our SDI automotive interface supports fully this protocol.

Volkswagen was using KW-71 derivate, called KW-1281, between 1995 and 2003 (till 2007 in some older models). These ECUs support KW71 protocol:

• BMW DME 1.x
• BMW DME 3.x
• BMW DDE 1.x
• Opel DDE
• Opel ML4.1
• Fiat ML4.1
